Who are we as professionals?

​

We are Radoslav Mehandzhiyski and Teodora Konstantinova - art historians and curators, current PhD students at New Bulgarian University, contemporary art lecturers. The project we are well known for in Bulgaria is the independent platform for contemporary art and culture called Art and Culture Today which we founded in 2016. Our main mission there is to create new types of visual experiences for wide non-professional audience through which everybody can learn about the ambiguous world of contemporary art in a light, adequate and up to date manner. 

 

The IMAGO International Artist residency is a way for us to become even more involved with the artistic dialog between the contemporary art scenes in Bulgaria, Europe and the world. In this context, we can be very useful for you with professional contacts with artists and galleries, advising you on artistic concepts and career development (if and only to the extent you feel appropriate), sharing what we know and what we have in the form of vast digital art, cinema and music collections.

Who are we as people? 

 

Teodora is full of positive energy – fresh and always smiling, her approach to life is almost poetic. Her natural charm results in a distinctive lightness surrounding everything we do! Radoslav could be more serious at times, but he is really goodhearted, always trying to make sure things are right and everybody feels ok. We are a couple in life and we are very much interested in the others - their characters, their ideas, their visions on topics of interest. People say we are very easy to communicate and work with and we think it's true :) We love the sunshine, the long talks in a good company and the sea! Even though we are often in intense working periods, in our hearts we are slow life fans!
